When Training Comes Alive

This year, CFCM introduced an exciting new element to its seminar programme — demonstration Bible clubs. Instead of ending the training with only theory and discussion, the final afternoon now bursts into life as children gather for a real Bible club, involving the newly trained teachers under the guidance of CFCM trainers.

For many participants, this hands-on experience becomes the most unforgettable part of the entire seminar. It cements what they’ve learned, shows them how a Bible club truly works, and lets them witness the joy and curiosity of unchurched children hearing God’s Word — sometimes for the very first time. More than anything, it inspires them to return home and begin Bible clubs of their own.

This impact was clearly seen in May in Muhuju, Rumphi district. After two days of training with Northern Region Coordinator Pastor Tembo and volunteer trainer Karen, the team held a demonstration Bible club that drew an incredible 100 children. Although 58 teachers had completed the training, many had never seen a Bible club in action before. Watching the children’s enthusiasm and engagement was eye-opening — and deeply motivating.

Meanwhile, also in May, CFCM staff members Elevate Mizinga and Joseph Jeke travelled to a rural community in Mwanza district. Here, many children join Gule Wamkulu at a young age — a traditional secret society and masked dance of the Chewa people, tied to initiation rites and ancestral customs. Participation often pulls children away from school and church, leaving them with little opportunity to hear the Gospel.

In such places, weekly Bible clubs become not just helpful but essential. Elevate and Joseph encouraged the newly trained teachers to begin clubs immediately, knowing this is often the only way children can regularly encounter God’s Word. Their demonstration Bible club attracted 80 children — a remarkable turnout and a powerful first step toward establishing a new ministry in this remote area.

Everywhere CFCM runs a training seminar across Malawi, these demonstration clubs are doing more than teaching methods. They are igniting vision, stirring compassion, and equipping believers to reach children who might otherwise never hear the Good News.

As CFCM continues to bring God’s Word to children across Malawi — from busy trading centres to the most remote rural villages — the need has never been greater. Every demonstration Bible club, every newly trained teacher, and every child who hears the Gospel for the first time is a reminder that this work matters deeply.

We invite you to stand with us.

Pray for the teachers who are stepping out in faith, for the children whose hearts are being reached, and for the communities where Bible clubs are just beginning to take root. Pray that God would open doors, protect the work, and raise up more labourers for this vital ministry.

And if you are able, please consider supporting CFCM financially through CFCM-UK. Your giving helps us travel to hard‑to‑reach areas, train more teachers, and establish more Bible clubs — so that even more children can encounter the life‑changing message of Jesus.

Together, we can ensure that no child is beyond the reach of God’s love.
