New places, renewed acquaintances

Elevate and Joseph have now passed the half-way point in their UK trip. The second week has seen them visiting more churches and CFCM supporters as well as seeing more parts of the country.

Elevate and Joseph’s first week in the UK

It is exactly a week since Elevate Mizinga and Joseph Jeke arrived in the UK. It is their first time out of Africa, first time on an aeroplane, and many new experiences ahead of them.

CFCM comes to the UK

In September we look forward to welcoming Elevate Mizinga and Joseph Jeke to the UK. They will be visiting supporters, both individuals and churches, observing children’s ministry in churches and schools, and attending some training.

Crossing the border with CFCM training

Once again, CFCM has taken Sunday school teacher training to an area where such training has never been given. On 1^st August CFCM trainers crossed the border into Western Mozambique and travelled to Tete.

Success in the hardest of times

These are the words of Joseph Jeke summarizing the year that is about to close. 2023 will be remembered by many in Malawi for the devastation of Cyclone Freddy in March, and great hardship brought about by relentless inflation and devaluation of the Malawian currency. Yet Joseph continues, “Although every home has been affected, we have endured and God gave us strength to go and do his work.” Elevate Mizinga adds, “our family we never sleep empty stomach.” Elevate and Joseph not only praise God for his protection over them personally, but also find much to thank God for when they consider what has been achieved by Children for Christ Ministry over 2023.

Reliable people

The CFCM Training of Trainers programme started in Blantyre in 2015 with the first group of trainers. Since then the programme has been expanded to a 5-day course, and has taken place in every region of Malawi. Over thirty men and women have successfully completed the course and practical assessment, and are able to train other Sunday school teachers in their areas. Here is how some of them have been contributing to CFCM’s work.

Building the teachers on the islands

“To say the truth, people they love CFCM because they start by building the teacher, then the children.” These are the words of CFCM trainer, Samson Nkapangalika, from Nkhata Bay. Samson was part of the CFCM team that visited the Lake Malawi islands of Likoma and Chizumulu in August.
