Although the CFCM office is in Blantyre in the Southern Region of Malawi, the staff team have the support of volunteer trainers around the country. In 2023, Sunday school teacher training seminars and special events are planned all around the country.
January 2023 – students at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi will have the opportunity to be trained in children’s ministry, Level 1. The team will return to EBCoM in April and July to complete Levels 2 and 3.
February 2023 – Elevate and Joseph will return for the third time to complete Level 3 training at Mulanje Chinyama.
March 2023 – Following a visit to the pastors’ fraternal in Nkhotakota earlier in the year, the team hopes for a big turnout of Sunday school teachers for Level 1 and 2 training at Nkhotakota.
April 2023 – This Easter’s 5-Day club (April 10th – 14th) will take place in Salima, and will be combined with 5 days of training for local Sunday school teachers. It is hoped that this will lead to the launch of many Bible clubs in this new area for CFCM.
May 2023 – CFCM volunteer trainer Simeon Senifala has been instrumental in establishing Bible clubs in the Mponela and Ntchisi area. He organized a Level 1 seminar in Mponela last year, and this time Elevate, Joseph and Simeon will complete Level 2 & 3 in Mponela, and run Level 1 in Ntchisi.
June 2023 – Following the success of last year’s Pastors’ Conference, the team will run another Pastors’ Conference in Mchinji. The aim is to encourage pastors to recognize the importance of children’s ministry in their churches and communities, and that they should support, encourage and assist their Sunday school teachers. The staff team will be joined by Pastor Robert Gideon of the CFCM Executive for this conference.
July – August 2023 – a return visit to Likoma and Chizumulu Islands is planned for August, but this time more trainers will go, and Levels 2 and 3 will be completed simultaneously on both islands. Then a few suitable teachers will be chosen from each island to be trained as trainers, with a view to the islands having their own trainers to train future Sunday school teachers.
September 2023 – Last year there was an enthusiastic response to Level 1 training at Ntcheu Chiole, so the team will return to complete Levels 2 and 3.
October 2023 – Level 1 training will commence at Mangochi Chilipa.
November 2023 – Level 3 training will be completed at Nkhotakota.
December 2023 – There will be a Christmas outreach event for children in December as usual. In previous years this has been a Christmas party for a particular Bible club, or hospital visitation, or child-headed family visitation.
These are the planned events for 2023, but there are expected to be other seminars requested by churches, and the programme of Bible clubs runs all year.
