Our busy office staff

Children for Christ Ministry is led by Elevate Mizinga and Joseph Jeke. They work out of the CFCM office in Blantyre and run several local Bible clubs. But they also travel throughout the whole country to deliver training and encouragement to children’s workers in every corner. Let’s find out what they have been up to in recent months.

Bible clubs…. Elevate and Joseph run regular Bible clubs at Mitsidi and Chitakale Primary schools and at Aquaid’s Namisu and Ntenjera orphanages.  At Mitsidi over 450 children are reached and taught God’s Word every Friday.  These children are divided into three groups by age so that they receive age-appropriate teaching.  Joseph explains, “We thank God that Mitsidi has a very mature and dedicated Christian teacher, Mrs Sanga, who, after receiving CFCM training, is helping with the school Bible club.  She takes it very seriously and has impressed us.”  Likewise at Chitakale, where 200 children attend the club every Wednesday, some of the teachers have been trained to share the work.  These matrons and patrons are equipped to carry on the Bible clubs when Elevate and Joseph are not available.

Teacher training… So far this year Elevate and Joseph have travelled to conduct training in Mwanza, Mulanje, Nsanje, Mchinji and Machinga, having previously visited the pastors’ fraternals in these places.  They have also attended evaluation seminars for prospective trainers in Mangochi, Kasungu, Mponera and Nkhotakota.  Future pastors and church workers at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi in Blantyre have also been trained in children’s ministry.

More training… This year CFCM has partnered with Way Ministry who provide training for their Montessori nursery school teachers.  Way Ministry wants to see Bible clubs in nursery schools and asked CFCM to train local teachers in the spiritual aspects and child protection.  Training commenced in June and will continue through the year till all teachers complete the course.

Office work… While in the office, Elevate and Joseph spend their time organizing events around the country, liaising with CFCM’s regional coordinators.  Some months there may be up to 8 training seminar days going on, and all of the training notes are produced in the office.  Elevate makes sure the volunteers involved in the seminars have their expenses on time.

Support and encouragement… In June Elevate and Joseph travelled all the way to Chitipa, the most northerly point in Malawi.  This was for refresher training for Sunday school teachers and to conduct demonstration Bible clubs in schools and villages.  The aim was to encourage the newly trained teachers to run Bible clubs in their communities.

On the way, Elevate and Joseph stopped off at Nkhata Bay, Mzuzu, Rumphi and Karonga to visit CFCM’s volunteer trainers in these places. They wanted to encourage them, listen to them, pray with them and help them with challenges they face.

Pray that Elevate and Joseph will themselves be strengthened and encouraged as they work tirelessly for God in sharing the Gospel with children and in teaching others to do the same.  They spend much time travelling and being away from their families, especially at the weekends when most training activities take place.
