Always eager to achieve the best results, Children for Christ Ministry is focusing on how to improve the effectiveness of its training programme for Sunday school teachers. Creating opportunities for practical experience is one way being explored.

The 2025 Easter 5-Day Club in Nsanje was a great opportunity for practical learning. 45 local Sunday school teachers attended training every morning from 21st – 25th April. The training was given by Elevate Mizinga, Joseph Jeke, Michael Namalenga and Raphael Ndenguma. After lunch, the teachers were divided into 4 groups, each group led by one of the trainers. They departed for 4 different locations – Mbeta, Magulumagulu, Chiphwembwe and Thelere villages – where children had gathered for the afternoon Bible clubs. The children’s parents and the village chiefs welcomed them, and allowed them to teach the Word of God to the children.

The teachers were involved in leading games and songs, teaching memory verses, and counselling. On the first and last day, the trainers did the Bible teaching, but on the other days the teachers led the entire club including the Bible teaching, and received feedback and encouragement from their trainer.

Not only was this a great opportunity for teachers to see children’s ministry in action, to experience the enthusiasm and eagerness of the children, and to practice what they had learnt in the seminars, but it was also a wonderful opportunity for the Gospel. A total of 3,000 children heard the Gospel that week and many came to Christ. CFCM’s prayer is that the newly trained teachers will continue to teach these children faithfully from God’s Word so that they grow in knowledge and the love of the Lord.
