Bringing change to the village

“To see so many children hear God’s Word in one day – we believe our village will change”. A Bible club leader in Chiole, trained by CFCM, describes the impact this year’s Easter 4-Day Club will have.

The CFCM team made up of Joseph, Elevate and Oden

From 1st April to 4th April, the CFCM team started the first of three daily Bible clubs at 7.30am. Children from the Kauwa Bible club were there bright and early to have a time of games and activities followed by the teaching of God’s Word. On the first day, 185 children were there – but by day 4, the news had spread, and there were 240 children. Kauwa Bible club is led by one young man and two women who were inspired by the training they received at CFCM seminars last year. The visit from CFCM was a great encouragement.

By 9.30am each morning the team had moved on to Yeneya Bible club, a smaller group of 60 children who are faithfully being taught by one lady. By the 4th day, some children had brought along their friends, and there were 74 children.

After a short lunch break – and a chance to get their voices back – the team moved on to Nenekeza Bible club, the biggest of the three clubs in the area. 6 teachers lead this club, and the number of children grew from 350 to 0ver 500 on the last day! Joseph said, “I thank God for this opportunity to speak to a big crowd of children regardless of their culture and religion. Never in my ministry have I had to raise my voice so high to cover such a large group!”

The village chiefs in the areas where these Bible clubs took place were very welcoming. They asked CFCM to keep coming back to their villages to encourage the teachers. So many children are dropping out of school very young, taking up drinking, and getting married young – the teaching they receive at CFCM Bible clubs could help change the direction of their lives. The prayer of everyone is that many will receive Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

The teachers have promised to keep teaching the children week by week, and ask us to pray for them in their ministry. Let us pray for the spiritual lives of these young ones, that they will be changed forever, and that they will have a huge impact on their village and beyond, to the glory of God.
